PHOENIX – Valle del Sol is partnering with other organizations to take Covid-19 testing and vaccines to the Maryvale community. Families will also have access to receive flu immunizations along with information about other health resources. The series of Health and Wellness events will take place Oct. 7 through 9. 



Patients will have access to care through Valle del Sol’s new mobile health unit funded by United Health Foundation. The mobile health team will be administering Covid-19 testing and the Pfizer vaccine to anyone over 12 years old along with blood pressure checks and glucose checks. Community members who have irregular results are encouraged to make an appointment to visit one of Valle del Sol’s seven sites in the Valley, including one clinic in Maryvale. 

The Covid-19 vaccine and tests are available at no cost to patients. Patients do not need to make an appointment to attend, but services will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Honest Arizona will be providing free tacos to attendees, while supplies last. 

“As employers continue to require the Covid vaccine for their staff, Valle del Sol wants to continue providing communities with opportunities to get vaccinated to help us get out of this pandemic,” said Carmen Heredia, CEO at Valle del Sol. “This series of events will allow families to access care and resources in a culturally inclusive manner and from trusted organizations,” she added. 

Community partners will be distributing information and resources for families wishing to explore health insurance options, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, access to mammograms, and much more. 

The events are being hosted in partnership with Honest Arizona, ONDA 1190AM/107.5FM, and Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC).
