Improving Lives Since 1970
Valle del Sol, an Arizona community-based organization, was born out of the Chicano movement in 1970 in response to an institutional neglect of Hispanic youth and cultural issues. Eight years later, the agency developed a behavioral health program to address the rising substance-abuse problem in the Valley Latino community.
Today the organization offers an array of culturally sensitive services focusing on behavioral and primary health, human services, and leadership development. Although Valle del Sol continues to focus on the Latino community, its current patient base includes non-Latinos and the economically disadvantaged and underserved.
